Finance Officer – Full-time, 36 hours per week, 52 weeks per year from May 2026


This Finance Officer role offers the opportunity to join a well-organised and supportive school environment with clear systems and strong leadership. The Finance Officer will play a key role in supporting the school’s financial operations, ensuring accurate record keeping, effective budgeting, and compliance with financial procedures. This is a long-term opportunity suited to a Finance Officer who is detail-oriented, reliable, and confident working within an educational setting.

Duties as Finance Officer:

  • Manage day-to-day financial administration and processing
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including invoices, payments, and reconciliations
  • Support budget monitoring and financial reporting
  • Assist with payroll-related administration where required
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and audit requirements
  • Work closely with senior leaders and administrative staff to support financial planning
  • Handle confidential financial information with discretion and professionalism
  • Support the smooth running of the school’s financial systems

Ideal Finance Officer:

  • Previous experience in a finance or administrative finance role
  • Strong numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Confidence using financial systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Good organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
  • Professional, reliable, and confidential approach to work
  • Understanding of safeguarding and working within a school environment
