A day in the life of a Murphy Environmental Manager:
- Establish and provide Leadership in best practice in environmental and sustainability matters in conjunction with the SHES function.
- Ensure management controls are in place so that all personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities, and to provide advice as and when required.
- Take a lead with site management teams to ensure compliance with all requirements stipulated in the environmental and sustainability plans.
- Lead, partake and oversee environmental incident investigations in accordance with the Company procedure and, analysing all data, making recommendations to avoid any reoccurrences.
- Manage, collate & review environmental and sustainability statistics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement environmental and sustainability campaigns and improvement plans in agreement with the Operations Director / SHES Director.
- Manage and where required be involved in the preparation & review of environmental and sustainability documents including those of 3rd parties.
- Manage and produce environmental and sustainability plans, procedures and associated documentation and check compliance.
- Identify significant environmental and sustainability issues and help set-up projects to include appropriate controls.
- Manage and identify any environmental and sustainability consents / permits or exemptions that are required and ensure they are obtained.
- Provide reports, presentations, and information as directed by the Business / SHES function.
- Undertake internal and external audits as required.
- Providing input and review of pre-qualification, tender and environmental and sustainability award submissions.
- Managing a small team of environmental specialists and liaising with third-party environment and ecology consultants
- Working and sharing best practices with an ever-growing E&S function

- Environmental training and development
- Solid Understanding of Net Zero principles.
- Experience within Carbon Measurement and action to drive reduction / efficiency.
- Experience in Environmental Incident Management and Investigation
