Summary
Word Practitioners Ministry is seeking a committed and spiritually mature Assistant Pastor to support the Senior Pastor in delivering the ministry’s vision and advancing the Christian faith through teaching, pastoral care, and outreach.
This role is central to supporting church growth, nurturing members, and assisting in the day-to-day running of ministry activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Senior Pastor in leading worship services, Bible studies, and prayer meetings
Preach and teach the Word of God in line with the ministry’s Statement of Faith
Provide pastoral care, counselling, and spiritual support to church members
Support evangelism, discipleship, and community outreach programmes
Person Specification:
Essential:
A committed practicing Christian with a clear calling to ministry
Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a church or ministry role
Strong knowledge of the Bible and ability to teach effectively
Good interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a ministry team
Flexible and willing to work evenings and weekends
Desirable:
Formal theological training or ministry qualification
Experience in pastoral counselling or community outreach
Understanding of safeguarding and church governance
