Job Description

The purpose of this position is to operate commercial type laundry washers, dryers, and presser. This includes loading, unloading and operations controls of machines to wash, dry and press items received from base facilities.
The Laundry Operator performs the full lifecycle of laundry operations by receiving, sorting, and documenting soiled items before executing washing, drying, and mechanical pressing cycles with care to prevent damage. In addition to folding and preparing clean items, the role involves maintaining processing records, coordinating collection and delivery logistics with managers, and ensuring the continuous cleanliness of equipment, lint traps, and the facility. In addition, the operator performs general housekeeping and other assigned tasks appropriate to their skill level to support efficient facility operations.

Qualifications and Key skills

A minimum of 6 months of general experience demonstrating the key skills listed below.

• Knowledge and skill of operating commercial washers, dryers, and pressers.
• Knowledge of correct loading capacity of commercial washers and dryers and how long to operate the machines for certain types of laundry

Other Significant facts
• You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations. This position may also be coded as mission essential.
• You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft, and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training.
• You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period.
• Schedule is as rostered (between 0000-1830) Start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with organization’s flexible working policies. Overtime may be required and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent.
• You must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Appointment is contingent upon passing a physical examination. You must be able to frequently lift objects weighing over 50 pounds.
• The Local National Direct Hire (LNDH) Program does not participate in regular drug testing, however positions covered by this document may be subject to drug testing upon reasonable suspicion of substance abuse, and safety mishap or accident testing.

NOTE: You will require a security clearance and a right to work in the UK
