Seasonal Domestic Couple role
*There is a possibility for the right Couple this role could be permanent with accommodation provided all year round, in the winter months the role would be a part-time caretaking role”
We are looking for a proactive domestic couple (preferably chalet/yacht couple) to manage the principle’s property in Padstow, Cornwall. The property is used fairly regularly by the family during the summer season (no commercial). The property is in a stunning location, with waterfront garden, and local access to Padstow, and all it’s surrounding surf friendly beaches
Duties to include but not limited to:
– Preparing the property for the beginning of the season & closing down at the end of the season
– Family cooking, healthy, fresh & nutritious meals (breakfast, and dinner most days when the family visit, some lunches and an occasional dinner party)
– Daily housekeeping, including the awareness of how to care for fine furnishings and fabrics. Overall, able to maintain cleanliness and presentation
– Laundry & ironing (including use of a roller iron)
– Household shopping and general errands
– Dealing with security systems, gates, CCTV and household technology. Being on hand to assist with Wi-Fi or security codes
– Strong maintenance skills required, including daily care for a pool and hot tub
– Letting contractors into the property, liaising with the property manager to book contractors where necessary
– Care of surfboards & wetsuits
– Arrange powerboat maintenance when needed (Powerboat & surfing experience a bonus)
– Driving the family where needed (drive to the beach, collecting from airports etc)
– Some administration, including booking restaurants when required, and liaising with PA and property manager on family plans
– Be flexible for last minute changes to timings and menus as per guests requirements
– The couple must be dog friendly as the family have 2 dogs which occasionally join them
The family are looking for a friendly and accommodating couple, with meticulous housekeeping skills and a strong maintenance background. They must be happy to work autonomously as the family will not always be in residence. One of the candidates must be a confident cook and be happy to prep and cook healthy meals for the family on a daily basis, and very occasionally for friends. Ideally both candidates will have a background knowledge in the hospitality industry and a great deal of self-motivation and energy
Due to its coastal location, there is an emphasis on maintenance management. The opening and shut down of this property is vital. Dealing with a variety of contractors, recognising which contractor is required, and being aware of any upcoming works is very important
The family are an informal family who lead busy lives and require staff around them who are willing and flexible. You must be happy to work as part of a wider team, including family office, to support the family
Attractive self-contained accommodation will be provided for the couple
– Must has right to work in the UK with no Visa restrictions, ideally already based in the UK
– Both must drive with full clean driving licences
– Excellent spoken and written English
– Working week 5 days per week – Flexibility is required, longer hours, and additional days will be required when the family are in residence. Days in lieu can be taken when the family are not
in residence
– Competitive salary based on experience
