Conveyancing Solicitor – Slough, Berkshire
Full Time | £40,000 – £60,000 per annum (DOE)
Also open to Consultant / Fee-Share basis
Our client is a long-established and highly regarded law firm, founded in 1998, with a strong reputation across Berkshire. The firm has grown steadily and is recognised for delivering high-quality legal services with a client-focused approach.
They are now seeking a Conveyancing Solicitor (3–5 PQE) to join their Slough office.
The role is advertised as a traditional employed position; however, the firm is also open to alternative working structures, including consultant and fee-share arrangements, depending on the calibre and preferences of the candidate.
Given current market trends, particularly the increasing movement toward fee-share and consultant models within conveyancing, the firm is keen to explore this route actively where suitable. This approach may also assist in attracting more commercially driven and high-performing candidates.
Role Overview
You will manage a varied caseload covering both residential and commercial property matters, including:
Residential Conveyancing:
• Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
• Re-mortgages
• Transfers of equity
• New build transactions
Commercial Conveyancing:
• Commercial leases (landlord and tenant)
• Freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals
• Offices, retail units, industrial premises, and warehouse transactions
Requirements
Essential
Candidates must demonstrate:
• 3–5 years PQE as a qualified Solicitor in Conveyancing
• Ability to manage a full caseload independently from instruction to post-completion
• Strong experience in residential conveyancing matters
• Good working knowledge of commercial property transactions
• Excellent client care and communication skills
• Strong organisational ability and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, professional environment
• Confident liaising with clients, agents, lenders, and other solicitors
• Solid understanding of regulatory and compliance obligations
Desirable
• Experience handling a mixed residential and commercial caseload
• Exposure to complex or high-value property transactions
• Experience within a fee-share or consultancy-style environment
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to develop client relationships
• Existing client following or introducer network
• Experience working in a high-volume but structured conveyancing team
Working Structure & Flexibility
To provide clarity for prospective candidates:
• The caseload is intended to be manageable and appropriate to experience level, with an expectation of independent file handling
• The residential and commercial mix is not intended to be overly complex, and can be adjusted based on candidate strengths
• The firm is not seeking a purely volume-driven environment, and performance will be assessed on overall quality and suitability rather than throughput alone
• Support, infrastructure, and case management systems can be discussed and tailored at interview stage where appropriate
• The firm is open to accommodating the right individual in terms of working structure and setup
Candidates will be assessed on overall capability, experience, and fit, rather than assumptions regarding workload intensity.
What’s on Offer
• Competitive salary: £40,000 – £60,000 (DOE) for employed candidates
• Consultant / Fee-Share model available for suitable candidates
• 28 days annual leave including bank holidays
• Ongoing training and professional development
• Supportive and established team environment
• Flexible working structure depending on candidate profile
