Crynodeb

Psychology Services Group are recruiting senior psychologists to join the expanding National Security Division (NSD) Psychology team, within the Directorate of Security (DoS) to contribute to the provision of psychological services. The NSD (within the National Probation Service) provides an enhanced level of management and intervention for the most high-risk, complex and high-profile offenders in the community. The NSD is based across five geographical units (Wales/SW, Midlands, North, London/KSS and East/South Central), and currently each unit has a Senior Psychologist allocated to the team.

We are looking to expand the team to provide further coverage nationally, particularly to our busiest areas. We are looking to expand the team to provide further coverage nationally, particularly to our busiest areas. This role is for coverage to NSD Midlands, and other office bases within the NSD Midlands region would be considered.

There are several key elements to the senior psychologist role within the NSD Psychology Team:

Develop relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders to promote the role of Psychology Services Group within this field.
Provide clinical guidance and support to the management of individuals in this cohort. This will include support to the multi-disciplinary team involved in the management of the case via MAPPA, core groups and case consultations. Additionally for the most complex individuals this may involve undertaking direct risk assessment and or interventions.
Provide support to wider Psychology Services Group colleagues around the assessment and or intervention of the offenders within this cohort.
Provide supervision and support to the NSD MDT team in your region, who are involved in release planning and ongoing management of TACT and other high risk/high harm cases.
There is also an expectation that post holders will undertake other core components of senior psychologist roles, including line management duties and/ or supervision of trainee psychologists.
Due to the nature of this role routine travel across the NSD areas will be expected.

The nature of this role and given the information the post will require access to, the candidates will be required to hold a minimum of SC security clearance (checks required).
