We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Kier Places team based in Rainham.
Location: RainhamHours: 40 hours per week (08:00 - 17:00)

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be joining Kier Places, a client-focused building, construction and property management business that delivers end-to-end solutions for places where people live, work and play. We protect the value of our clients' assets whilst enhancing the end users' experience through understanding unique environments and delivering projects that are safe, compliant, and technically excellent.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Kier Places team, supporting them in managing the commercial aspects of assigned projects to maximise planned gross margin through the placement and control of contracts and subcontracts. Your day to day will include:
-Managing commercial resources to maximise planned gross margin and support the achievement of budgeted profitability
-Tendering, evaluating, and appointing subcontractors and placing orders for materials and plant within delegated authorities
-Identifying, evaluating, and negotiating variations to contracts with customers and suppliers
-Measuring and valuing work to support the invoicing of customers and payment to suppliers
-Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with customers, consultants, and the supply chain to support fulfilment of contractual obligations
What are we looking for?
This role of Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:
-You have clear communication skills with experience of working effectively with multidisciplinary teams, client teams, subcontractors, and the wider supply chain
-You hold relevant qualifications (Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying is desirable) and have experience within a similar role
-You have strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
-You're flexible and able to work collaboratively as part of a team whilst using your own initiative
-You're willing to undertake training and development to progress in your career
