Job Title: CNC Turner – Fanuc Controls (Small Components)
Location: Accrington
Department: Machine Shop
Salary: £16.50 – £19.00 per hour depending on experience + shift allowance (TBC)
Working Hours: 38 hours per week
Overtime: x1.5
Working Pattern:
⦠Monday to Thursday 6:55am – 4:55pm
⦠38 hours per week
⦠Shift allowance (if applicable) to be confirmed
About the Role:
⦠Manufacture small precision components to customer specifications
⦠Work from detailed engineering drawings and offline programming documents
⦠Play a key role in maintaining production quality, accuracy, and efficiency
⦠Work within a fast-paced precision machining environment
Machines to be Set & Operated:
⦠CNC Turning Centres with Fanuc controls
⦠Multi-axis CNC lathes (live tooling preferred)
Key Responsibilities:
⦠Set and operate CNC turning machines with Fanuc controls
⦠Manufacture small batch and medium batch precision components
⦠Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
⦠Set tooling, touch off tools, and set work offsets
⦠Adjust speeds, feeds, and offsets to maintain tight tolerances
⦠Change tools/inserts and monitor tool wear
⦠Download, prove out, and save CNC programs
⦠Use measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, and thread gauges
⦠Inspect components to ensure they meet drawing specifications
⦠Report any quality or production issues to supervisor or inspector
⦠Carry out routine machine maintenance and housekeeping
⦠Maintain a safe and tidy working environment
⦠Contribute to continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity
Requirements:
⦠Minimum 3–5 years’ experience setting and operating CNC turning machines
⦠Strong experience with Fanuc controls
⦠Experience machining small precision components
⦠Ability to work to tight tolerances
⦠Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
⦠Experience working to production targets and deadlines
⦠High attention to detail
⦠Self-motivated and reliable
Desirable:
⦠Experience with live tooling and multi-axis lathes
⦠Experience in a precision engineering or subcontract environment
⦠Forklift truck training preferred
