About the Role - SEND Teaching Assistant / LSA
As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 support and small group interventions
- Support pupils with ASD, ADHD, PMLD, SLD, and complex learning needs
- Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management
- Adapt learning materials to meet EHCP targets
- Support behaviour management, emotional regulation, and communication skills
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Encourage independence, confidence, and social development

- Previous SEND experience (essential)
- Worked as a Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, LSA, Support Worker, Care Worker, or Youth Worker
- Is patient, empathetic, and resilient
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Is proactive, adaptable, and a team player
- Is interested in careers in teaching, SEN education, educational psychology, or therapy
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Right to work in the UK
- Experience in education, SEN support, care, or support work
- Knowledge of Autism (ASD), ADHD, PMLD, SLD, or complex needs (desirable)
