SEN Teaching Assistant - Specialist Setting (Ages 11-19)

Are you a compassionate, resilient, and committed individual with a passion for supporting young people with complex needs? We are currently seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational setting, working with students aged 11-19 who require a high level of tailored support.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference, supporting vulnerable learners to feel safe, valued, and empowered to achieve their full potential.

The Role
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with complex and multiple needs
- Work with young people with autism (ASC), SEMH, PMLD, and a range of additional needs
- Support both academic progress and personal development, including life skills and independence
- Assist with personal care where required, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
- Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using a calm and consistent approach
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and safeguarding teams
- Contribute to a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment

Essential Requirements
- Proven experience working with SEN and vulnerable children or young people
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students
- A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices
- Enhanced DBS on both the Child and Adult Workforce (or willingness to obtain)

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check (child and adult workforce), satisfactory references, and full compliance with KCSIE (2024) and safer recruitment standards. Overseas police checks may be required where applicable.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Educato Limited acts as an employment business in relation to this vacancy.

If you are passionate about supporting young people with complex needs and would like to be considered for this opportunity, we encourage you to apply today.
