Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant

⏳ Contract: Full-time
Pay: £85-£100 per day (dependent on experience)
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a supportive and inclusive school in Lancaster to recruit a Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant for a September start. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).The role will involve providing targeted support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, Speech and Language Needs, and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). Support may be delivered on a 1:1 basis and within small groups, both in and out of the classroom.
Role Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with SEND to access learning and engage positively in school life
- Implement individual support strategies in line with EHCPs and behaviour plans
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning activities
- Support pupils' emotional regulation, social development, and independence
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND
- Be patient, resilient, and empathetic
- Have a good understanding of additional needs and inclusive practice
- Be able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting wellbeing
