Crynodeb
Coordinate the preadmission treatment pathway for patients undergoing stem cell transplantation, CART therapy and related cellular therapies, working in close collaboration with the wider coordination team. Ensure patients and families receive timely written and verbal information, providing advice and support to enable informed consent and shared decisionmaking. Deliver holistic nursing care and emotional support to patients and their families throughout the pretreatment phase. Work collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary team to plan and coordinate treatment pathways for patients receiving cellular therapies within the Trust and with external providers. Manage a designated caseload, ensuring all preadmission and precollection requirements are completed, documented and reviewed by the clinical team, with support from the senior coordinator. Liaise with the medical team in the development, implementation and evaluation of individual care plans, treatment protocols and pathway documentation. Collect, collate, evaluate and report patient information, maintaining accurate and contemporaneous records to support safe and effective patient management. Work collaboratively with Quality and Data teams to maintain accurate record systems, contribute to service evaluation, and support the development and review of operating policies related to cellular therapies. Actively participate in regulatory accreditation processes (e.g., JACIE, HTA), clinical audit, annual reporting and the development of quality manuals. Review trial and commercial therapy documentation relevant to cellular therapy pathways and participate in associated meetings in the absence of the Lead Coordinator. Work in partnership with multidisciplinary teams, external professionals and agencies to ensure patient needs are met across the treatment pathway. Participate in relevant outpatient clinics, weekly transplant MDT and departmental meetings. Planning and organisational tasks / duties: Act as a visible role model, providing expert specialist clinical knowledge to colleagues and promoting highquality, patientfocused care across the cellular therapy pathway. Support patients, families and the wider multidisciplinary team in developing and embedding standards of practice, contributing to the creation and review of care protocols. Participate actively in audit processes to ensure continuous quality improvement. Lead or deputise, as required, at planning meetings with medical, laboratory and operational teams to coordinate the cellular therapy programme in collaboration with transplant/donor coordinators and the apheresis team. Work closely with directorate managers and key stakeholders to provide accurate information and assurance that performance indicators, quality metrics and service standards are being met. Participate in the evaluation of service delivery, identifying opportunities for improvement and initiating, supporting and managing change to enhance patient experience and operational effectiveness. Research: Maintain an uptodate knowledge base of current research and emerging evidence relevant to cellular therapy and associated treatment pathways. Assist in the application, translation and evaluation of research findings to support highquality, evidencebased clinical practice. Develop research interests within the specialist field, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and practice in cellular therapies. Participate in research, audit and service evaluation activities initiated by members of the multidisciplinary team, as required. Review research proposals and applications related to cellular therapy to ensure alignment with standard practice, governance requirements and patient safety. Education & Teaching:Provide specialist education and training on the management of cellular therapy treatments, delivering teaching and raising awareness among patients, nursing staff and other healthcare professionals. Maintain and develop own professional knowledge, ensuring all mandatory and rolespecific training requirements are met. Remain up to date with current protocols, guidelines and best practice, maintaining specialist expertise in cellular therapy treatments and associated pathways. Represent the organisation and department at regional, national and international forums, meetings and events as appropriate. Promote a positive learning environment in which staff are supported to take ownership of their professional development. Develop, deliver and evaluate education programmes in collaboration with the Practice Facilitator and wider education teams.
