A Vacancy at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.


We are seeking to employ an experienced nurse to join our Bariatric CNS team and the benign thyroid service. This one-year fixed term/secondment post is an exciting opportunity for somebody wishing to try something different. It is anticipated that the split will four days a week working with the bariatric service and one day a week with the benign endocrine surgical service.

By joining the very friendly bariatric CNS service the successful candidate will support both surgical and medical bariatric patients through the bariatric pathway with the aim of increasing the number of patient education sessions, one stop clinics and day case surgeries thereby also reducing the waiting list and improving patient experience. The successful candidate will also participate in the surgical preassessment of bariatric patients.

In joining the benign surgical endocrine service the post holder will work closely with the surgical consultants for the speciality for patients requiring , thyroid, adrenal & parathyroid surgery with a particular focus to increase the number of day cases.

The successful candidate will support and increase the number of nurse led clinics, patient educations sessions and one stop clinics for the bariatric service. This includes supporting the bariatric day case pathway patients.

As with the bariatric service, the successful candidate will support increase the number of patients going through the day case pathway. Therefore, applicants should be highly organised, have excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively and flexibly across services and MDTs.
