This role sits within a growing Tax Compliance team, supporting private individuals and partnerships while playing a key part in the transition to Making Tax Digital for Income Tax Self‑Assessment (MTD ITSA). The Role
As a Tax Assistant, you’ll be a valued member of the Tax Compliance team, working closely with clients to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely submission of personal and partnership tax returns.
You’ll also support clients as they prepare for the upcoming MTD ITSA changes, helping them adopt digital record‑keeping and quarterly reporting with confidence. This is a role that combines technical accuracy with relationship‑driven client service – ideal for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility, and progression.

Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Client Support
Preparing and submitting personal and partnership tax returns
Supporting clients with tax queries and compliance requirements
Ensuring deadlines are met accurately and efficiently
Assisting clients with the transition to MTD ITSA and digital reporting
Service Delivery & Collaboration
Building strong, professional relationships with clients
Working collaboratively with colleagues across the practice
Maintaining high standards of accuracy, organisation, and confidentiality
Contributing positively to team culture and continuous improvement
About You
Essential Skills & Experience
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a personal tax role within an accountancy firm or similar environment
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
Confident communicator with a client‑focused approach
Experience using Excel
Experience with Xero is beneficial (but not essential)
Willingness to learn, develop, and progress your career in tax
