Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) Location: Gloucester Position: Full Time Salary: £32,000 to £34,000 per annum Company: Fairview Health Ltd Interview Process: Includes mandatory trial days About Fairview Health Fairview Health is a rapidly expanding organisation committed to providing safe, efficient access to medicines across NHS Trusts, Unscheduled Care, and Primary Care settings. We operate a growing network of pharmacies and WDA licensed premises across London, Gloucester, the West Midlands, and the North of England, supporting both Community and Mental Health Trusts. We are now strengthening our team at our Gloucester pharmacy, which supplies medicines to multiple NHS Trusts across the South West of England. Role Overview As an Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT), you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and accurate supply of medicines across all NHS hospital contracts supported from our Gloucester dispensary. You will be responsible for conducting final accuracy checks on dispensed items, supporting efficient dispensary workflows, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism. Key Responsibilities Perform final accuracy checks on dispensed medications in line with ACT accreditation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Ensure all medicines accurately match prescriptions, are correctly labelled, and meet quality and safety standards. Work alongside Accuracy Checking Dispensers and provide support with training and development. Support the preparation and timely supply of medication orders for inpatient units and Trust clinics. Work collaboratively with pharmacists and dispensary staff to resolve discrepancies and maintain smooth workflow. Maintain accurate documentation and records in line with regulatory and organisational requirements. Assist with stock control, ordering, and inventory management to ensure continuity of supply. Uphold all health and safety standards, including the safe handling and storage of medicines. Qualifications & Experience Essential: Level 3 NVQ in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent). Accredited Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) qualification. Previous experience working in a dispensary environment. Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to patient safety. Desirable: Experience with pharmacy IT systems. Ability to manage workload effectively in a busy, service driven environment.
