A Vacancy at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced nursing professional to support the continuous improvement of patient care within the Paediatric service. You will work collaboratively with clinical teams across the Trust to identify opportunities to maintain and enhance standards of care, ensuring safe, effective and innovative practice.
You will provide professional leadership, guidance and clinical expertise to support staff development and the implementation of evidence-based practice. You will lead on the development and implementation of clinical guidelines, oversee audit activity to monitor effectiveness, and contribute to the education and training of multidisciplinary teams.
As a senior clinical leader, you will act as a visible, credible and effective role model, demonstrating high professional standards and supporting a culture of learning, innovation and quality improvement within paediatric nursing services.
You be required to be have flexibility and clinical credibility to support staff where needed, including participation in shift working patterns (days, nights, weekends and bank holidays) to provide hands-on clinical leadership and support.
Promote communication across the multidisciplinary team, representing the service at local and national forums as required & contribute flexibly to service management & clinical leadership in line with senior team arrangements.
Provide inspirational clinical and professional leadership, acting as a highly visible role model for nursing staff across high dependency and acute care environments. Drive excellence in practice by leading, coordinating & delivering high‑quality education & training programmes that ensure staff competence, regulatory compliance & continuous professional development aligned to service & organisational priorities.
Champion outstanding, safe & personalised patient‑centred care through robust assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing practice. Actively support & advise staff, patients & families, work close with the multidisciplinary team to maintain exceptional standards of care & experience.
Embed evidence‑based practice by leading the implementation, review and monitoring of policies, guidelines, audit activity and clinical governance frameworks. Play a key role in service development, quality improvement & audit initiatives in collaboration with the senior nursing & matron team.
Maintain a safe, effective & responsive clinical environment, proactively managing incidents, investigations and learning from adverse events. Support workforce planning & resource management, including rota coordination, skill mix optimisation & effective use of financial and physical resources.
