Graduate Teaching Assistants for Teacher Training Pathway – September Start
Location: Across Hampshire
Start Date: September 2026
Full-time, Long-term with funded teacher training
Subjects: Science (priority), plus English, Maths, Humanities and other degree areas
Are you a graduate considering a career in teaching and looking for a stable, fully supported route into the profession?
This is an excellent opportunity to join a large and well‑established multi‑academy trust through a structured Teacher Training Pathway based in a thriving secondary school environment across Hampshire & East Sussex.
About the Opportunity:
Successful candidates will begin by working within the school as a Graduate support / Teaching Assistant, gaining hands‑on classroom experience while learning from experienced teachers. From there, you will progress onto a fully funded teacher training programme, leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
This route is ideal for graduates who want to:
-Build confidence in the classroom before training
-Train to teach with strong, in‑school support
-Benefit from long‑term career stability within a large trust
-Access high‑quality professional development throughout their career
During your first phase in school, you will:
-Support students in lessons, small groups and intervention sessions
-Work closely with subject teachers, particularly in your degree specialism
-Help students overcome learning barriers and build confidence
-Gain valuable insight into lesson delivery, behaviour management and assessment
-Be mentored by experienced staff as preparation for formal teacher training
Teacher Training & Development
Following your support role period, you will:
-Progress onto a school‑funded teacher training programme
-Receive ongoing mentoring, coaching and CPD
-Train within the trust, offering continuity and familiarity
-Have clear long‑term career prospects across trust schools
We are keen to hear from graduates who:
-Hold a degree
(Science graduates especially welcomed: Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
-Are also open to strong graduates in English, Maths or other subjects
-Are committed to working in education long term
-Are resilient, motivated and positive role models
-Want structured support rather than a rushed route into teaching
What’s on Offer:
-A clear, supported route into teaching
-Funded teacher training
-Long‑term stability within a large academy trust
-High‑quality CPD and mentoring
-The chance to make a real impact on young people’s lives
If you’re a graduate ready to commit to a long‑term career in teaching, starting with real school experience and progressing into fully funded training, we’d love to hear from you.
You MUST:
-Have full right to work in the UK without restrictions
-Be able to commit full time from September 2026
