MAIN RESPONSIBILTITES Has day to day operational responsibility for the delivery of safe equipment and maintenance. Attend to equipment breakdowns which have been logged by way of the Trust intranet or phone. In line with manufacturers recommendations, carry out routine PPM servicing on a range of medical equipment to include specialised ophthalmic equipment. Responsible for the quality of the customer service experienced by professional users, including clinicians and all clinical professionals. Responsible for up to date Medical Equipment Inventory Responsible for working within the financial targets set within framework of the Clinical Engineering Department Responsible for meeting the agreed site based Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Conduct service reviews with clinic managers, the purpose of which is to ensure that any outstanding equipment issues are resolved, completed or escalated to Head of Department. Acceptance testing of medical equipment prior to becoming operational Organises and updates, operation and instruction (training) manuals for equipment Provides training support to medical equipment users Keeps accurate records Oriel Transition Support The post holder will actively support the Trusts transition to the ORIEL site, including: Equipment Migration & Commissioning Assist with planning and coordinating the safe movement of devices from City Road to ORIEL. Support acceptance testing, configuration, functional verification and commissioning of devices at ORIEL. Ensure equipment is labelled, tracked and recorded accurately during transfer. Work with ICT to coordinate medical device connectivity, networking, and system integration at ORIEL. Double-Running Support Provide operational engineering support during the dual-site running period (City Road + ORIEL), ensuring minimal service disruption. Respond to equipment issues at either site as required to maintain continuity of care. Project and Documentation Support Participate in ORIEL equipment-related working groups. In line with the department QMS, Support the development of ORIEL-specific SOPs, commissioning workflows, equipment readiness documentation and processes. Assist with equipment lifecycle planning, replacement identification and decommissioning linked to ORIEL. Training & Stakeholder Engagement Assist in training clinical staff and Clinical Engineering colleagues on new ORIEL-installed devices. Liaise with clinical services, Estates, ICT and suppliers to ensure smooth transition activities.
