ABOUT THE SERVICE:
The service supports 4 residents with a range of needs, including Learning Disability, Autism, Epilepsy, behaviours that may challenge, and Dysphagia. The service is located in North Finchley and provides person-centred care tailored to each individuals needs, including support with daily living, communication, and health management.
Applicants should be aware that this is a hands-on, person-centred role supporting individuals with Learning Disability, Autism, Epilepsy, and Dysphagia, including personal care, meal support, communication, and promoting independence. The role can be complex, as some individuals may display behaviours that challenge or have high-level health needs, so resilience, patience, and consistency are essential. Strong teamwork and communication skills with basic IT skills are required, along with a positive and respectful approach. Key skills include the ability to follow care plans, support individuals safely, manage challenging situations calmly, maintain accurate records, and work collaboratively to deliver high-quality care.
Sleep-in shifts are a key part of the role, requiring staff to remain on-site overnight to ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents. You will have a designated room to rest; however, you must be available to respond in case of emergency. This may include providing reassurance, supporting with personal care, or responding to health needs such as Epilepsy. While some nights may be quiet, others may require active support, so you must be alert and able to respond appropriately
