Youll work with electrical, mechanical, and PLC systems, responding to breakdowns and improving plant efficiency. Working alongside a team of Engineers, under the leadership of our Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for providing a prompt and responsive fault diagnosis and repair service throughout the sawmill, and undertaking routine electrical maintenance across a range of plant and machinery.

Specifically, some responsibilities of a Shift Electrician include:

  • Troubleshooting and testing equipment, controls, and software.
  • Repairing Mechanical, Pneumatic and Electromechanical Machinery.
  • Undertaking a variety of preventative and reactive maintenance duties.
  • Installation of machine parts such as valves, pumps, and motors.
  • Carrying out planned maintenance checks, finding and fixing any faults.
  • Responding to emergency breakdowns on our production lines.
  • Identifying solutions that will improve systems efficiency and reduce costs.
