Respiratory Physiotherapist

Band: 6

Hours: 37.5, Full time, Permanent

Join Our Respiratory Physiotherapy Team at Glenfield Hospital

Are you passionate about respiratory physiotherapy and committed to making a difference in patient care? We’re looking for a dedicated professional to support individuals with both acute respiratory illnesses and long-term conditions.

Based on the Respiratory wards at Glenfield Hospital, this role involves working with patients diagnosed with a range of conditions including Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Pneumonia, Bronchiectasis, Asthma, Tuberculosis, Neuromuscular and pleural disease.

You’ll be part of a dynamic Respiratory Physiotherapy team that collaborates closely with the Clinical Decisions Unit and Respiratory Support Unit. Together, we provide cross-cover, peer support, and shared learning to ensure the highest standards of care.

As part of our established Physiotherapy team, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your clinical expertise whilst also developing leadership, teaching, and service improvement skills—all within a supportive and driven department.

You’ll play a key role in a large multidisciplinary team, showcasing strong communication, prioritisation, and organisational abilities. Your responsibilities will include managing a complex caseload from initial assessment through to discharge or onward referral. You will also support students and fellow colleagues through mentoring, clinical supervision and training.

We’re committed to your professional development. You’ll receive regular supervision and appraisals, and actively contribute to service development, audit, research, and evidence-based practice.

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:
• high-quality care for all,
• being a great place to work,
• partnerships for impact, and
• research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
• we are compassionate,
• we are proud,
• we are inclusive, and
• we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
