Nursery Assistant / Trainee Practitioner | Career Start Opportunity

Are you passionate about starting a career in Early Years but lack formal qualifications? We are seeking an enthusiastic Nursery Assistant/Support Worker to join our dedicated team. This is a chance to work with children aged 0-5, utilising your natural care, energy, and genuine interest in early child development. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals keen to gain hands-on experience and potentially undertake future qualification training.

The Role

The core focus of this position is to provide essential support to qualified staff and ensure a safe, stimulating environment for our children. You will be actively involved in the day-to-day running of the nursery, providing general care, supervision, and helping to facilitate play-based activities.

What We Offer

A competitive hourly wage is paid on the Support Staff scale. This role offers a supportive team environment, comprehensive on-the-job training, and for the right candidate, the potential for supported qualification training (e.g., Level 2/3) to kick start your career in childcare. You will gain valuable experience across the early years age range.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for energetic, caring, and reliable individuals who:

  • Have some demonstrable experience (personal or professional) working with young children (ages 0-5).

  • Are enthusiastic, highly reliable, and dedicated to continuous learning.

  • Are motivated to pursue a formal qualification in Early Years.

  • Possess strong team-working skills and a positive attitude.

  • Are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Key Responsibilities

You will assist the practitioners with setting up and tidying up the indoor and outdoor learning environment, provide high-quality general care and supervision of the children, support the delivery of planned activities, maintain a clean and safe environment, and assist with meal times and personal care routines.

If you are ready to start your rewarding career in Early Years, we encourage you to apply.
