This role plays a vital part in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care within the Surgery Division at King’s Mill Hospital. As a Patient Pathway Support team member, you will help ensure the smooth and efficient running of outpatient clinics by preparing, organising, and tracking patient documentation, and maintaining accurate electronic records. You will support Patient Pathway Coordinators and clinical teams by ensuring all necessary materials are available for clinics, as well as providing clinical typing and audio transcription of letters and reports to a high standard of accuracy and within required timescales.
You will also act as a key point of contact for patients, relatives, and healthcare professionals, managing enquiries, booking and rescheduling appointments, and supporting the coordination of patient pathways. The role requires strong organisational, communication, and administrative skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines in a busy environment. A commitment to confidentiality, data quality, and inclusive, patient-centred care is essential, alongside the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

We are an award-winning NHS Foundation Trust working alongside health and social care colleagues across the county to provide acute and community healthcare services to more than 420,000 people across Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood, and parts of Derbyshire and Lincolnshire.
We put the patient at the heart of everything that we do and it is our aim to make sure that every patient is treated as we would want a member of our own family to be treated. At the same time, we expect our staff to be caring, kind and courteous to each other and to look out for each other. We believe that we are truly a clinically-led organisation.
We are proud that our Trust colleagues have voted us the best acute Trust to work for in the East Midlands for seven years running in the National NHS Staff Survey, while the Care Quality Commission has rated our Trust as ‘outstanding’ for care and our King’s Mill Hospital as the only ‘outstanding’ NHS-run hospital in the East Midlands.
