Crynodeb
The Breast Imaging Department at West Middlesex University Hospital has an opening for an enthusiastic Band 7 Mammographer to join its friendly and highly skilled multi-professional team.
We are a busy symptomatic site who offer tomosynthesis, stereotactic guided procedures, both vacuum assisted biopsies and excisions, and are establishing a new contrast enhanced service.
This role will be based at West Middlesex University Hospital and the post holder will work primarily within the symptomatic breast unit, providing imaging for the one stop clinics.
The post holder will also perform mammographic examinations as part of the family history and follow up surveillance services.
Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of England's top-performing and safest trusts. We operate two main acute hospital sites—Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital—along with award-winning clinics across North West London.
Our nearly 7,500 staff care for a diverse population of 1.5 million, providing full clinical services, including maternity, A&E, and children’s services, plus specialist HIV and sexual health clinics. The Care Quality Commission rates us 'Good' in safety, effectiveness, care, and responsiveness, and 'Outstanding' in leadership and resource use.
We continually invest in our facilities, including a £30m expansion of critical care at Chelsea and Westminster and an £80m Ambulatory Diagnostic Centre at West Middlesex.
We welcome applications for flexible working arrangements, accommodating requests where possible to support our staff and patient needs.
The Trust is committed to equality and welcomes applications from all, regardless of background. Adjustments can be made for disabled candidates. Early application is advised as vacancies may close once sufficient applications are received. If you haven’t heard from us within three weeks of the closing date, your application was likely unsuccessful. Employment is subject to a six-month probationary period.
Some roles may require weekend shifts at multiple sites.
The Breast Care Unit has a Hologic 3Dimensions Mammography System. The post holder will be expected to operate this unit daily in order to provide a high quality imaging service for all patients.
The post holder will be expected to provide care for our patients in both busy one-stop clinics as well as surveillance and family history clinics, and must be confident to perform a comprehensive range of breast procedures without supervision.
As a teaching hospital, it is expected that the post holder will undertake training, teaching and supervision of junior staff. In addition, the post holder must be motivated to undertake training themselves and to develop new skills.
As a senior member of staff, it is expected that the post holder will assist with all tasks associated with the organisation and smooth running of the Breast Unit.
