Deputy Manager progressing to Registered Manager (OFSTED children's residential home located in Hertfordshire, HP3)

Salary package of £39,000 - £41,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications).

About the Role

A vacancy has arisen for a strong Deputy Manager at a newly setup children's residential home (awaiting OFSTED pre-registration approval) and located in Hertfordshire (HP3). This position will commence as a Deputy Manager, with a view to progressing to Registered Manager at another home within 6 - 12 months. Individual will possess a strong understanding of OFSTED regulations and compliance requirements, along with experience of running an OFSTED regulated children's home.

The successful candidate will help lead a dedicated team in providing outstanding care and outcomes for children and young people with EBD andwill support the Registered Manager in the delivery of high-quality care to the young people residents at the home.

Daily tasks will include delivery of all care related services, helping the RM with strategic planning for developments within the home, safeguarding, staffing as well as all that pertains to the day to day running of the home.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the Registered Manager in the effective management of the home in line with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.

- Provide leadership, supervision and development to residential staff.

- Ensure safeguarding practices are embedded and maintained at all times.

- Support with care planning, risk assessments, and liaising with external professionals.

- Take on the role of Acting Manager in the absence of the Registered Manager.

- Support OFSTED inspection readiness and compliance with all statutory requirements.

What They're Looking For:

- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) - essential.

- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (Children and Young People) or willingness to work towards - desirable.

- Recent experience (1 - 2 years) of working as a Deputy Manager at a regulated OFSTED registered children's home.

- Self-motivated, ambitious and organised individual.

- Attention to detail and very good communication (verbal and written) skills.

- Good organisational, leadership and people management skills.

- A strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice and regulatory frameworks

- Full UK Driving Licence.
