This is a full time 10PA (sessions) posting with our Eating Disorders Service on a permanent contract basis. The postholder will be responsible for the medical oversight of the team caseload and will ensure that outcomes are gathered to demonstrate streamlined and safe service provision. The postholder work closely with the Specialist Dietician, Clinical Lead Nurse and Team Manager to implement national standards and will be responsible for upskilling and maintaining training for colleagues and Stakeholders in Acute and 3rd Sector Organisations. The successful applicant will work closely with other Health Professionals across partnership services and will also work closely with other Consultant Psychiatrists across the Trust as required. Successful applicants will have office accommodation, with IT support for e-mail, internet access and secretarial support. The post holder will be issued with all required IT equipment including a laptop and mobile phone as well as any reasonable adjustments that may be required. Sheffield Eating Disorders Service The Eating Disorders Service works alongside our service users, their families and our partner organisations to primarily provide recovery focused services for those aged 16 upwards presenting with Moderate-Severe Anorexia nervosa, Severe Bulimia nervosa, ARFID (low weight presentations). We work closely with our partner organisation SYEDA who provide service to those with Binge Eating Disorder, and mild / moderate Anorexia Nervosa & Bulimia. The service plays a key role in transitions to medical and specialist admissions where required. The postholder will develop and maintain close working relations with acute medical wards (Northern General - Sheffield Teaching Hospital) and Riverdale Grange (Specialist Inpatient Provider for the South Yorkshire Provider Collaborative). The service also provides evidence-based outpatient clinics, psychological interventions, and a 3 day a week intensive treatment programme (day service). We have been piloting the delivery of FREED (First episode Rapid Early intervention for Eating Disorders) alongside our SYEDA partners. We are planning to deliver integrated inpatient and community care for adults with eating disorders. This will involve the design and mobilisation of a 9 bed adult eating disorder unit, that will form part of the broader eating disorder pathway. The Consultant post will oversee both parts of this pathway, supported by clinical and medical leadership roles.
