Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesnt mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isnt fluency, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. For more information, see Welsh Language Guidance in the documents right at the bottom. You will be able to find a full Job description and Person Specification attached within the supporting documents or please click Apply now to view in Trac. *For those individuals who may not currently meet the essential criteria of the full band 6 JD: Applications will also be considered for those wishing a development opportunity under the Terms and Conditions of Annex 21. The successful candidate will be required to undertake up to a 24 month training/development programme upon commencement of this role, with an aim to complete a programme of work competencies and acquire the necessary postgraduate skills, knowledge and experience in this field. Completion of the qualification/learning and achievement of postgraduate experience is a requirement of the contract of employment for Annex 21 candidates. During this 24 month training period, salary will be paid in accordance with Annex 21 of the Terms and Conditions as follows : Months 1 - 12 of the training period will be paid at 70% of the top of Band 6 pay scale, Months 13 - 24 of the training period will be paid at 75% of the top of Band 6 pay scale. Upon successful attainment of the identified qualification/experience/competencies, even if sooner than the 24 month allocated timeframe, the post holder will automatically move to the Band 6 as they will then meet the full KSF outline of this role and be expected to undertake all duties within the Job Description as indicated. NOTE : There will be some circumstances where current staff apply for these posts, and their new trainee salary will be below that of their current salary. To aid both the recruitment and development of staff it is recommended that staff across NHS Wales should have continuity of pay for the duration of the training to avoid financial detriment. This should apply when staff take up training posts both within and across NHS Wales organisations. Following this training, the remuneration will be the bottom of Band 6, again without financial detriment.
