Are youan enthusiastic and dynamic Staff Nurselooking for an opportunity to join our forward thinking, vibrantcommunity-based Health Visiting team in Reading?

Whether you are an experienced Staff Nurse ready for a new direction, or new the role, we will ensure you receive individualised and effective support from both your Health Visiting line manager and colleagues within your team.


You will work within Reading as part of a Team to support our staff in the delivery of core and targeted services to children aged 0-5 and their families. You will require excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work in partnership with other teams and agencies, along with great communication skills and a passion for working with children and families.

• Work with the HV team to achieve the Key Performance Indicators (KPI)as part of the Healthy Child Programme

• To provide support to families within a variety of community settings under the direction of the Health Visitor

• To plan and deliverPublic Health activities for children and their families to include working in groups, child health clinics, developmental review clinics, and on an individual basis

• To provide support to families using the Solihull approach model in behaviour management, parentingskills and delivering programmes of care to vulnerable families as identifiedby the health visitor

• To support breastfeeding and parent infant relationships applying theUnicefUK Baby Friendly Initiative standards

• To be fully aware and understand of local safeguarding policies and procedures

• To work in partnership withFamily Hubsand Early Years settings to promote the health and well-being of the local population

• To act as a practice supervisor for pre-registration nursing students andnew staffand to support students in placement by providing a suitable learning environment and experience
• To liaise with other agencies and services to provide integrated and cohesive support for children and their families, under the direction of the health visitor

The “must haves” for this role:

• A qualified nurse on the NMC register

• An understanding of Safeguarding and how this applies to families with children under the age of 5 years.

• Full UK driving license and access to vehicle for work
