Shift and schedule:

- Shift pattern:

- Day shifts: 07:45 – 16:00 (Monday, Tuesday & Friday) 07:45-17:00 (Wednesday & Thursday)
- Waking night shifts: 18:30 – 06:30 (Monday, Wednesday & Thursday)

Thriving are excited to present this long-term Support Worker opportunity in Baschurch.

This is a rewarding role supporting a 11-year-old female with Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy to live safely, comfortably, and as independently as possible in her family home and school environment.

We are looking for compassionate, reliable Support Workers who believe that disability should never be a barrier to a full and meaningful life. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and building consistent, trusting relationships. Previous experience supporting children with Cerebral Palsy and complex needs is essential.

Company and Role:

- The client is a 11-year-old female with Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy
- This is a 1-1 support role
- The service user is a wheelchair user and requires hoisting for all transfers
- Waking night support is required due to nocturnal seizures and health anxiety
- Bedroom monitoring is in place overnight

- Day support includes:

- Morning routine and personal care
- Preparing for school and transport using an adapted automatic vehicle
- 1-1 support and advocacy at school, including toileting and medication
- Playroom activities, reading, games, music, and sensory play

- Night support includes:

- Bedtime routine and personal care
- Reading bedtime stories
- Seizure monitoring and reassurance
- Supporting the service user to resettle during the night

- Successful Candidate:

- Must be female (genuine occupational requirement)
- Must be a driver and confident driving an automatic adapted vehicle
- Previous experience supporting children with complex needs is essential
- Experience with Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy required
- Comfortable with personal care, medication administration, and manual handling
- Must be confident using manual handling equipment.
- Comfortable providing 1-1 support in a classroom environment, must be confident doing this.
- Excellent spoken English required
- A calm, reassuring approach, particularly during night support
- Seizure and rescue training preferred but can be provided
