What skills and experience we're looking for

Limehurst Academy is an exciting place to work and learn. Our school motto is Achievement in a Caring Environment. You will see when you visit the school and talk to the students, teachers, support staff and governors that we are passionate about what we do: getting the best out of every child whatever their abilities, interests or ambitions. We have high aspirations for everyone who is part of our community whether student or member of staff. With this caring ethos we are looking for skilled staff to join us who have a clear passion for helping young people achieve the absolute best they can. We are proud to be a member of the East Midlands Education Trust.

The school was inspected by Ofsted in April 2022, who confirmed that the school remains a good school. The report can be found on our website, and we strongly encourage you to read it. Our 2025 results were, again, very strong. Over 50% of our students achieved a Grade 5+ in English & Maths. 41% of our SEN students achieved a Grade 4+ in English & Maths. As has been the case for many years now, all of our headline measures are well above national averages. We are committed to improving yet again this academic year, and we are determined to do so. Our parents and the local community are extremely supportive of the school.

This post is a crucial one to the school. You will deliver Mathematics to the full age and ability range, including GCSE Mathematics. You will be part of the six-person Maths department, which is led by the experienced Head of Maths. You will also be expected to be a form tutor. Time-management skills, patience and a good work ethic are essential, as are excellent interpersonal skills. The job description will give you further details about what we require.

Please submit the application by the deadline date of 9:00am on Monday 11th May. However, we reserve the right to call suitable applicants for interview before the closing date.

On the application form, please focus on a detailed 'supporting statement' taking into account the person specification and indicating why you would be the best person for us to recruit to this position.

If you would like further information and require an informal conversation or visit, please telephone or email our school office via 01509 263444 or office@limehurst.org.uk

The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post, will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK. The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Safeguarding checks will be undertaken during the recruitment process and this may include online searches.

If you believe you have the skills and qualities to help us continue to be successful, then we look forward to receiving your application.

We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or religion.

Closing date for applications is 09:00AM on Monday 11th May 2026.
