Are you passionate about supporting young people's emotional wellbeing and helping them succeed?

Prospero Teaching is recruiting dedicated Mental Health Support Workers to work across Primary, Secondary, and SEN schools throughout Dorset. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in pupils' lives-supporting them to feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.

You'll play a vital role in helping young people navigate emotional, social, and mental health challenges within a supportive school environment.

The Role

You'll work closely with students, schools, and support teams to promote positive mental health and wellbeing:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group emotional wellbeing support
- Support pupils experiencing anxiety, low mood, trauma, or social difficulties
- Help students build coping strategies, confidence, and resilience
- Collaborate with pastoral, SEN, and safeguarding teams
- Monitor and record pupil wellbeing and progress
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and nurturing school culture

✅ Who We're Looking For
- Experience in mental health, youth work, counselling, SEN, or support roles
- Calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Confidence in handling sensitive and challenging situations
- Ability to build trusted, positive relationships with young people
- Strong communication skills and safeguarding awareness
- DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

What We Offer
- Opportunities across Dorset, including Dorchester, Weymouth, Poole, Bournemouth, Sherborne, and surrounding areas
- Long-term and full-time roles available
- Term‑time only work - ideal for work‑life balance
- Competitive pay rates
- Ongoing support, guidance, and CPD opportunities

Ready to Make an Impact?

If you're committed to improving young people's mental health and want a role where your work truly matters, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today with your CV and start making a difference.
