Location: West London - Acton
Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday – Flexible working hours

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Test Engineer to join a specialist engineering team developing and testing advanced scientific and technical systems used by leading research organisations worldwide.

As a Test Engineer, you will play a key role in validating complex equipment, ensuring systems perform reliably before delivery to customers. Working closely with engineering and production teams, the Test Engineer will support system testing, diagnostics, and performance verification throughout the development and manufacturing process.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on engineering, problem solving, and working with highly technical equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out functional and performance testing of complex engineering systems
Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical faults and performance issues
Work with engineering teams to ensure systems meet design specifications and quality standards
Assist with system commissioning and validation
Maintain accurate test documentation and reports
Support improvements to testing processes and procedures
Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth project delivery
Essential Skills & Requirements

Degree or equivalent qualification in Physics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
We would also consider a post apprenticeship candidate
Strong hands-on testing and diagnostic skills with complex technical systems
Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation
Strong problem-solving and analytical ability
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work methodically and maintain accurate technical records
Desirable Experience

Experience working with scientific, vacuum, cryogenic, or high-precision engineering systems
Familiarity with test instrumentation and data analysis
Experience supporting engineering development or production testing
