General Science Teacher (ECT) – Full-time, long-term supply starting September 2026


These long-term supply opportunities are ideal for Early Career Teachers who are looking to gain valuable experience and build confidence across secondary school settings. This General Science Teacher role is well suited to ECTs who want consistent classroom experience, the chance to develop their practice, and the opportunity to make a real impact while teaching Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Duties as General Science Teacher (ECT):

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured Science lessons in line with the curriculum
  • Teach across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at KS3 and KS4
  • Plan, prepare, and adapt lessons to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies to maintain high expectations
  • Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress where required
  • Work collaboratively with department colleagues and support staff
  • Contribute positively to the wider school community during the long-term placement

Ideal General Science Teacher (ECT):

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or due to qualify as an ECT by September 2026
  • Early Career Teacher seeking long-term supply experience
  • Strong subject knowledge across the Science curriculum
  • Confident, reflective, and eager to develop classroom practice
  • Good organisation and time-management skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
  • Adaptable and open to learning within different school environments
