Food Technician - English & Mandarin Speaking
Location: London
Salary: Up to £50,000
Reporting to: Production Director
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 6:00pm
Role Overview
This role involves supporting the development and improvement of food products within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will contribute to product innovation, maintain quality standards, and provide technical expertise across multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor industry developments and consumer trends to support product strategy within the frozen food category.
Assist in the creation and refinement of products, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance with specifications.
Define and implement manufacturing processes and quality benchmarks using appropriate technical methodologies.
Provide technical guidance to internal teams, including resolving product-related queries and challenges.
Work closely with procurement and suppliers to ensure raw materials meet required standards.
Support cross-functional collaboration with commercial and marketing teams on new product initiatives.
Contribute to continuous improvement activities, particularly in relation to product quality and production efficiency.
Undertake additional duties as required to support the wider team.
Candidate Profile:
Degree qualified in Food Science or a related discipline (postgraduate qualification desirable).
At least 3 years’ experience in a food manufacturing, product development, or technical role.
Familiarity with quality systems and regulatory requirements within the UK and EU food industry.
Working knowledge of food safety frameworks such as HACCP and GMP.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
Effective communicator with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
High attention to detail and ability to operate in a dynamic environment.
Languages
Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English - Essential
