What skills and experience we're looking for
This term time post is temporary based on funding following the pupils.
Our OFSTED rated ‘Good’ school, is looking for a highly skilled 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work with a couple of pupils who are autistic in KS1 across the day. One pupil in the morning and another in the afternoon.
We would like to hear from you if you are:
• forward thinking
• resilient
• have a working knowledge of Autism
• uses initiative to create learning opportunities for the pupils
• willing to support pupils with intimate care plans
• have a knowledge of how to support a pupil’s emotional needs as well as their academic development
• are able to demonstrate a good use of initiative and responsibility to support pupils’ learning
Candidates need to also recognise the small steps that a child needs to take and how this is recorded as part of their Individual Learning Plan. This skilled role will enable a child to unlock their learning and become confident learners – a privileged position indeed.
What the school offers its staff
Our curriculum is set up to explore learning through a hands-on approach that requires skilled professionals to have the ability to promote what is being seen as well as knowing the curriculum well enough to make connections with other areas of the curriculum at the same time; i.e. development of grammar through an investigation or the use of speech.
Commitment to safeguarding
The school is committed to equal opportunities and safer recruitment practice. Pre-employment checks will be undertaken before any post is confirmed. This post is subject to enhanced disclosure and barring service checks. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
