The Role:
Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer? I am seeking an Electrical Engineer with hands on experience, and has project oversight as you may be running a number of minor electrical projects at any one time, ensuring to budget
This role combines electrical design input, project management responsibility, and practical electrical work, including the repair and calibration of safety-critical equipment
You will manage and mentor one electrical team member, while remaining actively involved in day-to-day electrical tasks and supporting project delivery from design through to completion
You will contribute to and review electrical and system designs
Act as the main point of contact for technical queries, ensuring compliance with BS 7671, CDM 2015, and relevant rail and manufacturing standards
Review, update, and sign off electrical designs, test results, risk assessments, and technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and traceability
Typical Work Activities:
Conducting site inspections, testing, and electrical risk assessments as required
Repairing, fault-finding, and calibrating rail safety equipment
Supporting and mentoring a team member
Liaising with project managers, contractors, suppliers, and clients
Resolving complex technical and operational issues in real time
Familiar with Cad software
Ability to perform root cause analysis effectively using tools like MATLAB or Simulink
Qualifications and experience:
HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or similar
SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable)
