Tech Camp runs hands-on technology camps for young people aged 9-17. We are looking for a capable, organised and confident Residential Camp Manager to lead our staff team at our Winchester residential camp and help ensure campers have a safe, well-run and rewarding experience.
This is a summer management role with real responsibility and includes residential duties. The successful candidate will need experience leading a small team of adults, but does not need to have worked in this exact type of role before. We would welcome applications from people with relevant leadership experience in education, childcare, youth work, residential settings, summer schools, activity camps, or similar environments.
This role may suit an experienced teacher, but it could equally suit someone who has worked with children or young people outside a formal school setting and who has experience managing staff.
Dates and residential requirement:
* Training and preparation from 29 July 2026
* Camp runs from 1 August to 28 August 2026
* Based in Winchester
This role includes a live-in residential requirement from Sunday to Thursday nights during the camp period, with accommodation provided.
We are ideally looking for one person to cover the full four-week camp period. However, we would also welcome applications from candidates who could cover either the first two weeks or the second two weeks, if the role is split between two suitable people.
Main responsibilities:
* Leading and supervising a small team of adult staff
* Organising staff duties and helping ensure the camp runs smoothly
* Supporting staff performance, communication and professionalism
* Overseeing camper welfare, behaviour and safeguarding
* Handling day-to-day operational issues calmly and effectively
* Liaising with parents, staff and senior management
* Maintaining a safe, positive and well-run residential environment
We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience leading or managing a small team of adults
* Is organised, reliable and confident taking responsibility
* Communicates clearly and professionally
* Has good judgement and strong people skills
* Can stay calm and effective in a busy environment
* Enjoys working with children and young people
* Has relevant experience in education, childcare, youth work, pastoral care, camps, residential settings, or similar roles
This is a temporary summer role based in Winchester, with accommodation provided for the residential part of the role. You must already have the right to work in the UK. An enhanced DBS check will be required. For more information or to apply, please contact office@techcamp.org.uk.
