The successful candidate:
We are looking to recruit an exceptional candidate for the role of SENDCo to lead our SEND department at Magna Academy. This will provide an exciting and challenging opportunity to build upon the existing track record of excellence within our SEND provision. The successful candidate will work closely with our Phoenix team and our Vice Principal for Inclusion.
Magna Academy is shaped by a strong commitment to inclusion, ensuring that all students are supported to access learning and achieve their potential. The role of the SENDCo is central to this approach, leading the development of effective teaching and learning strategies that respond to a wide range of needs and abilities. Working in a hands-on and child-centred way, the SENDCo observes students in both academic and social settings, providing practical guidance and support to staff to help overcome barriers to learning. In line with the SEND Code of Practice, the SENDCo coordinates key processes such as EHCP needs assessments and Annual Reviews, while working collaboratively with families and external professionals. Through this, they play a central role in ensuring that every student’s educational experience within a mainstream setting is both inclusive and aspirational.
The successful candidate will be an excellent teacher with experience and expertise, who has a passionate belief in the ability for all to succeed. They will be a conscientious and enthusiastic team player keen to join a vibrant department. The successful candidate must have NASENCO qualification in working with students with SEND and have a strong and proven track record in teaching.
We are looking for a highly motivated, outstanding classroom practitioner with a strong presence, who is ambitious for students, their colleagues and the academy. Ultimately, we are looking for a committed teacher with an uncompromising belief that all students deserve an outstanding education. They will uphold our inclusive ethos and provide opportunities for all students to progress well.
