These flexible opportunities are ideal for Secondary Teaching Assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings. You will be supporting pupils in Finchley and the surrounding areas, helping them access learning and succeed across a range of subjects.

Duties as Secondary Teaching Assistant:

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils across different subjects
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive, and accessible learning activities
• Support pupils with additional needs to ensure full participation in lessons
• Promote positive behaviour and follow school behaviour policies
• Prepare resources and assist with classroom organisation
• Encourage independence, confidence, and effective study habits
• Monitor and record pupil progress and share relevant observations with staff
• Contribute to wider school routines and duties during longer‑term placements

Ideal Secondary Teaching Assistant:

• Previous experience supporting pupils in a secondary school environment
• Understanding of strategies for supporting mixed‑ability groups and SEND learners
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Calm, patient, and able to build positive relationships with pupils
• Confident supporting learning across a range of subjects
