The States of Guernsey are looking for a Deputy Manager to join the Community Living Team within Adult Disability Services.
The Deputy Manager at Community Living supports the Community Living Manager in the day-to-day leadership and delivery of a high-quality, person-centred supported living service for adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs. Alongside management responsibilities, the Deputy Manager will also work directly with service users, providing hands-on support to promote independence, dignity, choice, and control, while enabling individuals to achieve positive outcomes and an enhanced quality of life.
The role involves supporting, supervising, and developing staff, modelling best practice in person-centred care and positive behaviour support, and ensuring safe, compassionate, and effective support is delivered at all times. The Deputy Manager contributes to safeguarding responsibilities, supports compliance with organisational policies and regulatory requirements, and helps maintain high standards of care and service delivery.
Working in partnership with the Community Living Manager, service users, families, carers, and multi-disciplinary professionals, the Deputy Manager assists in implementing and reviewing support plans, contributes to service improvement initiatives, and promotes meaningful community engagement.
The role also includes deputising for the Community Living Manager when required and fostering a positive, inclusive, and empowering environment for both service users and staff.
