Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Purchaser to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services essential to our operations. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain processes, logistics, and ERP systems to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement. The Purchaser will play a vital part in maintaining optimal stock levels and fostering positive supplier relationships to support the company's strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, negotiation, and purchase order placement.
- Utilise ERP system to track orders, manage supplier data, and monitor inventory levels.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure favourable terms and reliable delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely receipt of goods and resolve any supply chain disruptions promptly.
- Prepare procurement reports and forecasts to support planning and inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and health & safety regulations during procurement activities.
Skills
- Proven experience with ERP systems
- Negotiation skills with the ability to secure advantageous terms.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail for assessing supplier performance and market conditions.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with suppliers, internal teams, and stakeholders.
