General To have a thorough understanding of patient pathways and workflows in mental health To have a thorough understanding of the Clinical Information System This will include representing the Divisions at Trust meetings ensuring local service requirements are considered, including communicating outcomes, agreements and issues To have a thorough understanding of Trust performance requirements and how these are captured for reporting via the clinical information system sharing best practice across the Trust To have a thorough understanding of the process for recording activity in the Clinical Information System. This will include representation of the Division at Trustwide Data Quality meetings. To use this understanding to assist and enable staff using the system to record clinical activity to a standard that will both provide evidence of the quality of care delivered and meet the requirements of the performance and reporting agendas Engage with practitioners to embed into practice the delivery of all performance measures by all teams and individuals e.g. CQUIN / SOF / Mental Health Currencies / KPIs Support the role of the Clinical Improvement leads to ensure timely intervention to improve performance or DQ in particular areas Engage with managers to monitor operational reports, and take remedial action where indicated to ensure delivery of all performance measures by all teams and individuals Support the Division in maintaining up to date and appropriate IT systems, structures and devices to support the delivery of high quality care and treatment Support the management of the services within agreed budgets. Assist in the revision / development of clinical information systems to support clinicians in delivery of care and treatment Directly support the achievement of the Information Governance requirements within the Division providing an Information Asset Assistant role and supporting the development of Information Sharing Agreements Represent the service within meetings and have the ability to lead on projects as appropriate to the role Training role Delivery of targeted training in relation to CQUIN, Mental Health Currencies and other targets on a whole team / individual / staff group basis for all professional groups. This will include delivery of appropriate sessions on induction training for junior doctors for example Delivery of both formal training sessions and one-to-one coaching in the workplace relating to use of the Clinical Information System for new staff Delivery of both formal training sessions and one-to-one coaching in the workplace relating to use of IT systems and processes which support clinical care Preparation of supporting documents such as How-to training guides and help-sheets that will enable system users to embed recording into practice Monitoring Work with managers to interpret and use performance reports Develop or prepare focused reports to identify areas for improvement Support the provision of monthly and quarterly performance reports and associated action plans as appropriate Use such reports to identify where staff may need additional assistance in how to complete an activity, or with the effective recording of that activity Where a need for further action is identified, work with individuals and their line / team managers to address knowledge and skills deficits Communication Possess excellent communication skills, to enable the sharing of the standard required and how to do it information to staff at all levels in the Division Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all elements of the Divisions services Effectively communicate new and updated information relating to Performance measures and targets to all the relevant members of the Division workforce To represent the Division in a range of forums ensuring information is shared and/or communicated to relevant personnel
