Teaching Assistant - Secondary School | Cardiff | Make a Real Impact Every Day
£92.60 - £100 per Day
Full time
There are plenty of TA roles out there. This isn't one of the forgettable ones.
This is for someone who actually cares about showing up and making a difference, not just filling a timetable.
We're working with a well-led, inclusive secondary school in Cardiff that genuinely values its support staff. You won't be an extra pair of hands here, you'll be a key part of the classroom, supporting students who need consistency, encouragement, and someone who believes in them.
The school is looking for someone who wants to commit and become part of the fabric of the team. For the right person, this is not a short-term stopgap, it's an opportunity to build something meaningful over time. The successful applicant will be expected to commit to the role for a minimum of 2 years.
The role:
You'll be supporting pupils across KS3 and KS4, working closely with teachers to keep lessons engaging, focused, and accessible. Some students will need academic support, others will need help building confidence, routines, and resilience.
No two days are the same and that's exactly why the right person thrives here.
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting students 1:1 and in small groups
- Helping manage behaviour in a calm, consistent way
- Breaking down learning so every student can access it
- Building proper relationships - the kind that actually impact progress
- Working as part of a team that backs each other
What matters (more than anything on your CV):
You don't need to tick every box on paper but you do need the right mindset.
- You show up with energy and patience
- You're reliable,schools need consistency
- You genuinely care about young people doing better
- You're not afraid to get stuck in and learn
Experience in a school helps. The right attitude matters more.
What you'll get:
- Pay rate of £92.60 per day
- A school that respects and supports its TAs
- Ongoing, stable work (not day-to-day uncertainty)
- A team that communicates properly, no guessing games
- The chance to build experience that actually moves your career forward
Why this role stands out:
Too many roles promise a "supportive environment" and don't deliver. This one does.
The leadership team understands that great classrooms are built on great support staff and they act like it. If you commit, they'll invest in you.
If you're looking for something where you can switch off at 3pm and forget about it, this probably isn't for you.
If you want to be part of something that actually matters, apply now.
Start date: May and September
Location: Cardiff
Type: Full-time / Long-term
