£15.50 per hour | Part-time | zero-hours contract offering flexible shifts | Weekend availability required

Please note: This is a casual, flexible role with no guaranteed full-time hours. It is best suited to individuals who are retired, semi-retired, or seeking occasional work alongside other commitments.

Our client is a respected transport charity delivering essential passenger services across East London. Supporting nearly 50,000 members and over 1.3 million journeys each year, their work makes a real difference in the community.

They are looking for reliable, community-focused drivers who value flexibility over fixed full-time hours.

You’ll support a variety of services, including school runs, day centres, excursions, and Dial-a-Ride. The role offers variety, but also requires adaptability to changing schedules.

Working pattern (important)

• Casual hours – this is not a full-time position
• Shifts offered between 06:00 and midnight, Monday to Sunday
• Rota-based system, updated every 3 weeks
• Weekend availability is required
• Hours will vary week to week

Requirements

• D1/PSV licence (maximum 3 points) – essential
• Good communication skills
• Patient, reliable, and professional approach
• Flexible and able to accept shifts at short notice
• Passenger transport experience (desirable, not essential)

Key responsibilities

• Drive safely and professionally (D1/PCV standards)
• Transport passengers using accessible vehicles
• Assist passengers, including wheelchair users
• Complete vehicle checks and maintain records
• Provide a courteous, door-to-door service
• Follow schedules and communicate with the depot when required
