Crynodeb
We are looking for a Personal Assistant to support an outgoing, enthusiastic 34‑year‑old man with cerebral palsy to enjoy an active and fulfilling life in the Dunfermline area.
Our client has a wide range of interests, with one of his biggest passions being remote‑controlled stock car racing—an area where he’s something of an expert! He also loves attending stock car racing events across Fife, including venues in Lochgelly, Cowdenbeath and Knockhill. The right person will enjoy supporting him to attend these events and share in his enthusiasm for the sport.
When he’s not racing or at events, he enjoys getting out into his local community—whether that’s bowling, visiting the cinema, or taking day trips to Edinburgh. He’s an excellent traveller and uses the car, bus and train to reach places of interest. He’s also a big sports fan and loves chatting about his favourite teams.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being active, sociable, and part of experiences that bring excitement and enjoyment to someone’s day. As you will support him out and about, a driving licence is essential.
Weekend support is needed on Saturday and Sunday mornings to assist him in getting up, dressed and ready for the day. Some personal care may be required, and his family will be on hand to guide you through his specific needs.
Applicants should bring a caring nature, patience, a good sense of humour, and a reliable, flexible approach. Experience is helpful but not essential.
This role requires an enhanced PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) check.
We would ask that you write a small paragraph about yourself which will allow the family to gain a better idea of why you would like to have this post.
