Job Title: Bar Staff (0-Hour Contract)
Location: The Boathouse, Stockton
Working Days: Thursday – Sunday
Overview:
The Boathouse in Stockton is seeking reliable and motivated Bar Staff to join our team on a 0-hour contract basis. This role is ideal for individuals who are confident working independently and are comfortable taking responsibility for opening and closing the venue. As a key holder, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day running of the bar while maintaining high standards of service, cleanliness, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Open and close the building in line with company procedures, including securing the premises
• Take responsibility as a key holder, ensuring the venue is safe and operational at all times
• Prepare and open the bar for service, including stock checks and setup
• Serve drinks efficiently while delivering excellent customer service
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the bar and public areas
• Handle cash and card transactions accurately
• Restock and manage bar inventory as required
• Change gas cylinders and kegs safely and efficiently, ensuring continuous service
• Ensure compliance with licensing laws and health & safety regulations
• Work independently during quieter periods while maintaining productivity
Requirements:
• Previous bar or hospitality experience preferred
• Confident working alone and managing responsibilities independently
• Trustworthy and reliable, with the ability to act as a key holder
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Flexible availability, particularly Thursday through Sunday
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure
Contract Type:
0-hour contract, offering flexibility with shifts allocated based on business needs.
