University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to work with us.

Please see below for detailed job description of the role.

This vacancy does not meet the Home Office threshold for sponsorship; therefore we are unable to accept applications from candidates who do not have the right to work in the UK.

As a Phlebotomist at Lymington Hospital, part of University Hospitals Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, you play an important role in delivering safe, high‑quality, and patient‑focused care. Your main responsibility is to collect blood samples accurately and professionally, helping provide reliable results that support timely diagnosis and treatment.

The role makes a direct contribution to patient safety and experience, as high‑quality phlebotomy is essential to effective laboratory testing and smooth patient pathways. Through compassionate care, attention to detail, and adherence to quality standards, you help support the Trust’s commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

You will report to the Phlebotomy Manager and work closely with fellow phlebotomists, ward and clinic teams, and laboratory staff. Teamwork, communication, and shared responsibility are central to ensuring patients receive consistent, respectful, and efficient care throughout their diagnostic journey.

University Hospital Southampton is one of England's largest acute teaching Trusts, offering a wide range of learning and development opportunities to support your career aspirations.

Located on the south coast with an international airport and direct rail links to London, Southampton offers an ideal setting to live and work, with the New Forest, South Downs and Jurassic Coast.

We believe that using technology wisely shows strong time management and commitment to innovation. However, personalizing your recruitment application to highlight your unique skills and experiences is crucial. Relying too heavily on generic, AI-generated content instead of drawing from your own strengths and accomplishments may lead to your application being rejected if multiple candidates present identical or similar information.
