Crynodeb
The Electrical Craftsperson will undertake planned preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and fault-finding on electrical and associated mechanical plant and systems across Trust sites. This includes, but is not limited to, electrical distribution, lighting systems, fire detection, standby generators and nurse call systems. The role involves carrying out testing, inspection and certification in line with current legislation and standards, completing minor installation and improvement works, and responding to urgent maintenance requests to ensure the continuity of clinical services. The post holder will work both independently and as part of a wider Estates team, often in sensitive patient environments, restricted spaces or challenging conditions such as plant rooms and service ducts. Occasional participation in mechanical or building maintenance tasks may be required in line with service needs. You will be expected to comply fully with Health & Safety legislation, Trust policies and SCL safety standards, maintaining awareness of risks at all times. Responsibilities also include mentoring apprentices, act as Authorised Person (AP)/ Responsible Person where appointed providing guidance to non-technical staff on the safe use of equipment, completing work records electronically, and participating in outofhours on-call and shift rotas.
