A well-established organisation within the water and environmental services sector is seeking a Domestic Waste Technician to join their team on a temporary 6-12 week contract.
This is a field-based role covering sites across the Anglian region, offering a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, being on the move, and playing a hands-on role in day-to-day operations.
The position is ideal for candidates looking for immediate, short-term work within a supportive and operational environment, with the opportunity to gain valuable experience across multiple sites.
As Domestic Waste Technician, you will act as a key point of contact on site, supporting the safe and compliant handling of domestic waste while delivering a high level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations at domestic waste import sites
Carry out site and equipment checks, identifying and resolving basic issues
Ensure high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality compliance
Sample and assess waste to ensure it meets required standards
Provide professional and friendly support to customers, drivers and site teams
Maintain good housekeeping and ensure sites are operating efficiently
About You
Full UK driving licence (essential)
Able to travel across multiple sites and use your own vehicle
Based within reasonable distance of Peterborough / surrounding areas
Comfortable working outdoors in a hands-on environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proactive, reliable and able to work independently
Previous experience in wastewater or similar environments is desirable
Working Pattern
40 hours per week
Flexible shifts between 7:00am - 6:00pm
Field-based role covering Grantham, Spalding, Grimsby, Lincoln, Skegness, King's Lynn and surrounding areas (with occasional travel further afield)
